This article is your step-by-step guide on how to create your challenge from uploaded content

Updated over a week ago

Just a quick note that Meiro currently supports the following types of uploads:

  • .pdf files up to 15MB in size

  • .docx files up to 15MB in size

  • pasted text up to 45,000 characters on paid plans and up to 20,000 on Trial

We are actively working on expanding the types of uploads supported by Meiro, including links, videos, and audio.

Please note that Meiro can currently only process the first 60,000 characters of any uploaded file. However, we are working to increase this limit so that Meiro can process the entire document within seconds.

Character count includes spaces, punctuation, and digits.

Step 1: Your Content, Task, and Language

Pasting text

To use this tool, simply copy and paste your text into the input field. Please note that there is a limit of 20,000 characters for the trial version and 45,000 characters for paid plans. This character count includes spaces, punctuation, and digits.

Uploading Your File

To upload your file, switch to the 'File' tab. Meiro currently supports PDFs and DOCX files up to 15MB in size.

Note that Meiro can currently only process the first 60,000 characters of any uploaded file. However, this will soon change to allow Meiro to process the entire file in seconds.

Adding your task

You need to specify the request for AI. Remember, AI is not yet capable of reading your mind (fortunately). Therefore, avoid using brief or general descriptions that may result in an unexpected outcome. You can mention specific chapters to include or exclude, as well as parts such as the table of contents, endnotes, and references.

Here are some good examples:

Create a competency test for senior-level marketing specialists based on the uploaded file. Use only the first 8 chapters to create the test.

Generate a test based on the content of the uploaded file. The test should assess the student's knowledge of artists and their masterpieces during this period.

Create a data analysis test based on the uploaded file. Ask the student to analyze the trends in population growth for a specific region or country and draw conclusions from the data.

Here are some examples of poor tasks:

Create a test based on the uploaded file.

This prompt is far too vague and lacks any specific guidance. It doesn't indicate the type of question to be generated, the content to focus on, or the intended difficulty level, making it impossible for the AI to generate a meaningful test question

Generate a test based on the provided file about a complex scientific concept. This prompt is unclear because it doesn't specify the actual scientific concept or the content of the uploaded file. Without clear subject matter or context, the AI cannot create a relevant question

Create a test related to the attached document.

This prompt is problematic because it merely references an attached document without specifying the document's content, format, or subject matter. It lacks the essential details needed for the AI to generate a relevant test question and may lead to arbitrary or unrelated questions.

Choosing Language

Meiro supports multiple languages, including ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง English, ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช German, ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท French, ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Italian, ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Spanish, and ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Russian. However, we are constantly working on adding more.

If the uploaded document is in English but you choose German as the challenge language, the generated quiz or test will be in German.

This setting affects the general content language, action buttons, and descriptions. Later on, you will be able to change the challenge language in the settings, but the content itself will remain as originally generated.

Step 2: Number of Questions, Answers, and Results

To create your challenge, you will need to set the following parameters:

  • Number of questions to include in the challenge (15 on Trial, 40 on paid plans)

  • Number of answer options for each question (4 on Trial, 6 on paid plans)

  • Number of results you want to generate (4 on Trial, 6 on paid plans)

A bit more about the Results

Each result will have its own range based on the number of correct answers. For example, if you have 10 questions in your challenge, you can create two results that will be valid for ranges of 0-5 correct answers and 6-10 correct answers.

In editing mode, you can always modify this range or add additional options later.

Step 3: Difficulty, Tone of Voice, and AI Model

We'll need you to provide some important details that will help us tailor the AI-generated content to your specific needs and preferences. Don't worry, it's easy!

Difficulty level

You have three options to choose from easy, medium, or hard. Depending on the level you choose, the AI will adjust its output accordingly. If you're not sure which level is best for you, we recommend starting with โ€˜easyโ€™ and working your way up.

AI model

We offer two choices of AI models based on GPT-3.5 and GPT-4.

  • GPT-3.5 is a great option if you're looking for fast and reliable results, but it may be less creative than GPT-4.

  • On the other hand, if you're willing to wait a bit longer for your content, GPT-4 is best for producing more unique and creative outputs.

Tone of voice

You can choose from a variety of options, including funny, friendly, serious, expert, mysterious, sarcastic, casual, or none of the above. This will help the AI understand the tone you're going for and produce content that matches your preferences.

Once you've provided all of these important details, simply click the Start AI Magic button and watch as the AI goes to work, generating content that is tailored specifically to your needs and preferences.

Step 4: Preview

This is the final step before creating the full version of your challenge. Here, you can preview the result. If it looks good, press the green button labeled Create full version.

Note that you can always tailor the generated content to your specific needs and make any necessary corrections in โ€˜Editingโ€™ mode of your challenge later.

If you're not satisfied with the result, you can still go back a few steps and change whatever you need to change. In this case, click on "Regenerate" and choose whether you need to regenerate from scratch or with the same parameters.

Note that getting an identical result in the second generation is impossible, even if you make minimal changes.

Enjoy the result

After creating the full version you'll be redirected to a challenge editing mode. Here you can navigate through blocks, add covers, customize, and edit content if you need to.

Don't forget to publish your challenge or it won't go live.
